Goodbye for Now: Cole Hauser Honors His Mother, Cass Warner, and Her Remarkable Life

Cole Hauser, widely recognized for his role as Rip Wheeler on “Yellowstone,” recently shared the somber news of his mother’s passing on social media.

He conveyed the news on Instagram with heartfelt words: “It is with a heavy heart that I announce my mother, Cass Sperling Warner, has passed away at the age of 76. Her kindness, love, humor, and vibrant spirit will be profoundly missed not only by my family but by those around the world she touched. I am comforted knowing she will join the company of the great souls in heaven. Until we meet again, farewell for now.”

Cass Sperling Warner’s passing is a loss not only to her family but also to the broader creative community. She was the visionary behind Warner Sisters, a production company, and founded The Dream Factory, a non-profit aimed at helping individuals realize their creative dreams. Cass belonged to the esteemed Warner family, a dynasty in the entertainment sector.

Her grandfather, Harry Warner, was a pioneer, co-founding Warner Bros. Pictures in 1923 and leading it as president for over three decades. This legacy thrives today, with the studio renowned for its major contributions, including those to the DC Universe. Cass chronicled her family’s cinematic journey in “The Brothers Warner,” a book celebrating their contributions to film.

Cass’s father, Milton Sperling, was a celebrated screenwriter and producer, with a portfolio of over 50 films. His notable work includes co-writing “The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell,” which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Story and Screenplay.

Cole Hauser, her son, continues the family’s legacy with his own distinctive mark in the entertainment industry. His role in “Yellowstone” has garnered a dedicated following, contributing to the success of a franchise eagerly awaiting its final season later this year.
