Is this the last season? Will Kevin Costner be in the final episodes? The cast is expanding

The revelation that the show would be concluding marked the peak of months filled with intense speculation regarding its continuation. In early February 2023, Deadline sparked conversations with reports suggesting that “Yellowstone” might be coming to a close, attributing the uncertainty to conflicts between star Kevin Costner and the production team over filming schedules. According to their sources, Paramount Network had not accepted Costner’s latest suggestions for scheduling, choosing instead to focus on developing another series.

At that time, Paramount’s response seemed to refute these rumors, stating, “We have no news to report. Kevin Costner remains an integral part of ‘Yellowstone,’ and we hope he continues to be for many more years. With Taylor Sheridan at the helm, we’re constantly exploring new avenues to expand this mesmerizing universe he’s created. Matthew McConaughey is an exceptional talent we’re excited about potentially collaborating with.”

Speculation has been rife about Kevin Costner’s involvement in the concluding episodes of the series, a topic that gained additional attention due to legal filings from the actor amidst his divorce from Christine Baumgartner. Documents revealed by Insider in July 2023 showed Costner indicating a significant drop in his earnings for the year. He stated, “My income for 2023 will be considerably lower than it was in 2022, primarily because my contract with ‘Yellowstone,’ which was my main source of income last year, has ended.”

In a September child support hearing, Costner further stated, “I’ve been told it’s a little disappointing that [it’s] the #1 show on TV, I’m not participating,.” He added, “I will probably go to court over,” the payout for the second half of the season.
